Lovely Dagobert Peche (Austria 1877-1923) designed cup with saucer. Impressed marks beneath for Gmunder Keramik Austria circa 1915-20. The firm executed ceramics for the Wiener Werkstatte. Peche joined Wiener Werkstatte as artistic director in 1915. The glazed black and cream cup has a central floral bouquet in Peche's iconic style.Similar works are pictured in "Dagobert Peche and the Wiener Werkstatte" pages 308, 313. The book was published by Yale University Press in association with the Neue Galerie, New York. 2 1/4" H., 5" W., to handle (cup); 6 1/2" W. saucer. (Two available)
