Figural wine bottle holder from Brienz, Switzerland circa mid-nineteenth century. The magnificent carved, bearded gentleman lays upon a cart and is contoured to allow a bottle to rest as he holds a twig-form collar and twig-saw to nestle the bottle. The rare holder is assembled with pegs and has working wooden wheels. Early Black Forest carvings of walnut and linden trunks, symbols of luxury and wealth, were featured in international exhibitions in London, Paris and the United States. Carving of a human figure, as well as it unusual form, make the holder an extraordinary example for the collector of wine-related antiques. Elegant Victorian, English tall wine bottle coaster stand. The high-hat form has pierced design along with garlands and lion masks in relief. The flaring top is cast with grape leaves and clusters. The pattern is by Barker Ellis of Birmingham circa 1880. 4 1/4" H., 7 3/8" W.

Art Deco corkscrew made of Bakelite. The two-part red and black corkscrew unscrews at the top to reveal the corkscrew within. France circa 1930. 4 3/8" L.

The "Bar Baby" features a corkscrew, bottle opener, funnel and 2-ounce measure all housed in a mini- cocktail-shaker form. Made by Napier in Connecticut circa 1930's. A whimsical and practical bar accessory. 3 3/4" H.

Very fine quality sterling silver and crystal ice cooler made by the well-known Mappin & Webb. Crystal is cut into nine panels with curving fan patterns. Top is mounted with a silver frame along with notched and curving Art Deco handles. Complete with its original silver ice drainer to allow water to settle beneath the ice cubes. Lovely Art Deco wine or champagne cooler. The double-tiered form has a hammered surface upon its lower section. Carved wood Art Deco spiral handles flank the top. Unusual example, made by the Wilhelm Wolff workshop in Pfzorzheim, Germany circa 1930. Dimensions: 8 1/4" H, 10 1/4" W.

Sweeping handles flank the bold Art Nouveau wine or Champagne cooler. Interlacing stylized Jugendstil foliates in relief exuberantly adorn front and back. Made by the Gerhardi workshop in Germany circa 1900. 9 3/8" H., 12" W. to handle

Stunning Secession design. The body of the copper wine or Champagne cooler is hammered. The brass top with its openwork patterns has Secession florette, as well as geometric forms. Energetic flanking brass handles have a central bead element. Made in Germany circa 1905. 9 3/4" H., 11" W.

Fine heavy quality crystal ice cooler made by Stromberg. Sterling swivel bale handle signed Aage Weimar. The son of Danish silversmith Evald Nielsen, Weimar began his own workshop in 1937. Cast grape-and-leaf cluster mounts adorn the handle. Denmark circa 1940. 10 3/4" H., 6 1/2" W.

Sterling silver compact corkscrew and bottle opener. The corkscrew is concealed within its silver engine-turned wave pattern holder. Ideal for traveling. Made by the Blackinton silver workshop in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, circa 1940. 3 1/2" L.
