Sweet bronze sculpture of a Dutch boy holding a pipe. Nicely cast with a rich olive-brown patina. Signed "Kek," also known as Keck. Hans Keck sculpted figures of children and was active 1900-'25. Bronze stands upon a black onyx base. Germany circa 1910. 5 3/8" H.

Stunning antique gilded bronze frame in the Empire style. A cornice with foliate detail supported by twist pillars floats in front of the frame. Bronze of a 16th-century gentleman holding two geese. Charming depiction of the well-known bronze sculpture by Hans Peisser, titled "Gaensemaennchenbrunnen" ("The Goose Man's Fountain"). The original sculpture, cast in 1550, is located in the Nuremberg Town Hall square in the old town. The depiction portrays the tale of the geese being carried to market, and as they loudly protested, the gentleman took pity upon them and swiftly returned them to their home. This detailed casting rests upon a variegated green marble base and bears the original retailer's label beneath, G.G. Leykauf. Nuremberg circa 1910. 6 1/4" H.

Fine cast bronze of a boy holding an early carved flute-like instrument known as a chalumeau. The figure with wavy hair wears a jacket, hat and fur-lined shoes. A basket of fruits rests behind. Signed upon the squared base, Duchoiselle. The sculptor, active in France in the nineteenth century, created a highly regarded pair of bronzes depicting Native American Indians in canoes. Exquisitely cast gilded bronze urn by the famous Barbedienne Foundry in France circa 1900. Detailed relief floral clusters are found upon the top. Additional stylized Art Nouveau flower forms enhance the circumference as well as the sides of the form with its variegated marble base. Signed F. Barbedienne, Paris. 8 3/8" H.

Chiparus portrayed children in his earliest works. This rare and massive example depicts a spirited youth playing pipes. Detailed casting by Etling, the artist's early foundry. Greenish patina with contrasting golden-brown highlights to hair and pipes. Fine Art Nouveau "L'Etang" (The Pond) Jardiniere featuring frolicking children, circa 1890's. Well cast sculpture by one of the most highly regarded artists working in France in the Art Nouveau Era. A similar example is pictured in The Paris Salons-vol. V, page 369. This is an unusual example by Larche, well known for his design of The Loie Fuller lamp.
