Large Art Deco figure group of Diana the Huntress, by J. Dauvergne. A kneeling Diana holds a spear as two leaping ibex run forward. The figures are upon an elaborate, variegated, cream-and-caramel onyx base with green onyx insets. Geometric marble forms further enhance the bold Art Deco design. Diana, with a patterned drape about her shoulder, is patinated in silver and gold; the ibex in aubergine. Signed upon the base, J. Dauvergne. France circa 1925. 21" H., 33 1/2" L., 7 1/8" D.
Bronze bottle opener mounted with a cast figural swan. The form is a fine example made by Richard Rohac (1906-1956) in Austria circa 1950. Rohac trained with Hagenauer prior to establishing his own metal workshop in 1932. He was well-known for creating stylized, Modernist figures of animals as well as other decorative sculpture. Signed beneath with the artist's backward/forward double "R" mark. 1 3/4" H., 3" L.

Bronze of a 16th-century gentleman holding two geese. Charming depiction of the well-known bronze sculpture by Hans Peisser, titled "Gaensemaennchenbrunnen" ("The Goose Man's Fountain"). The original sculpture, cast in 1550, is located in the Nuremberg Town Hall square in the old town. The depiction portrays the tale of the geese being carried to market, and as they loudly protested, the gentleman took pity upon them and swiftly returned them to their home. This detailed casting rests upon a variegated green marble base and bears the original retailer's label beneath, G.G. Leykauf. Nuremberg circa 1910. 6 1/4" H.

Bronze boy grasping an apple. Sweetly sculpted with a scarf about his neck and wearing a knit cap. Olive-brown patina with a contrasting gold patina upon the face and hand. Signed A. Titze upon the reverse. The artist was active in Vienna from 1900-1920 creating detailed figures of harlequins, animals and children. The bronze stands upon a variegated caramel-tone marble base. 6 1/4" H.

Figural wine bottle holder from Brienz, Switzerland circa mid-nineteenth century. The magnificent carved, bearded gentleman lays upon a cart and is contoured to allow a bottle to rest as he holds a twig-form collar and twig-saw to nestle the bottle. The rare holder is assembled with pegs and has working wooden wheels. Early Black Forest carvings of walnut and linden trunks, symbols of luxury and wealth, were featured in international exhibitions in London, Paris and the United States. Carving of a human figure, as well as it unusual form, make the holder an extraordinary example for the collector of wine-related antiques. 11" H., 5 3/4" W., 18 1/2" L.
Bronze sword-form letter opener created to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. One side of the hilt depicts floral symbols: thistle, Scotland; shamrock, Ireland; daffodil, Wales; rose, England. The reverse has symbols of the Commonwealth: kiwi, New Zealand; beaver, Canada; kangaroo, Australia; springbok, S. Africa. Has relief insignia ERII, Elizabeth Regina II. Hallmarks: Harry Atkin of Sheffield in 1953. 8 1/2" L.
Beautifully detailed, patinated metal figure of a hurdler by the famous Art- Deco-era sculptor, Demetre Chiparus (born 1886 in Romania, died 1947 in France). The figure, with outstretched arms, jumps above as he clears the hurdle beneath. Signed D.H. Chiparus upon the naturalistic ground, with foundry seal upon back edge. Art Deco pottery group of a nymph and faun from the Marcel Guillard (1896-1932) ceramic workshop. Sculpted by G. Debloize. The draped nymph and resting faun have a cream crackle glaze and rest upon a mottled gray base. Artist and ceramist marks are impressed beneath the pottery base. France circa 1925. 11 1/4" H., 10" W.

An energetic Bacchic putto and goat frolic upon a naturalistic, rocky ground. The ground is further enhanced with clusters of ivy and grapes along with florals as well as a ribboned staff. The finely detailed multi-cast group, in the manner of Clodion and August Moreau, is patinated in rich brown with deep golden tones on the putto. All rest on a variegated red marble demilune base.
