Combination one- and two-ounce Modernist sterling silver cocktail jigger designed by Alphonse La Paglia. A native of Italy, La Paglia was commissioned to execute designs to be retailed by Georg Jensen, USA in the 1940's. These were retailed for only a few years when designs were briefly continued by International Silver Co. His creations abruptly halted in 1953 due to his untimely passing. Lovely Modernist ball-and-loop motif. Pictured in "Jensen Silver, the American Designs," page 125. 3 5/8" H.

Lovely Modernist sterling silver bowl. The reticulated blossom design was originally created for Georg Jensen USA by Alphonse La Paglia in the 1940's when they commissioned America designers for silver offered in the Jensen New York shop. This stunning bowl was made by the Durham Silver Co. of New York circa 1950 when Jensen ceased offering the designs. A rare find. Set-of-six sword cocktail picks are each silver gilt and created to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. This is the Sword of Mercy design which was one of the three ceremonial swords used in the coronation ceremony, the other two being the Sword of Spiritual Justice and the Sword of Temporal Justice. The design symbolizes the transfer of the kingdom into the care of the Queen. Picks are fitted in their original silk- and red velvet-lined case.
