Impeccable design! The lobed creamer and sugar are distinctly influenced by Josef Hoffmann. They have hand-hammered detail and rest upon their original oval tray with its complementing, hammered, rising border. All pieces have rolled rims, a sign of quality. Each is signed by the Wilkens & Sohne silver workshop of Bremen-Hemelingen, Germany. Each consecutively numbered 7173, 7174 and 7175, along with 830 Fine Silver marks; circa 1929. Examples of Wilkens works are represented in the collection of the Brohan Museum in Berlin. 6 1/4" W., 9 1/8" L. tray; 2 1/8" H. sugar; 2 5/8" H. creamer

Fine Modernist silver cocktail condiment bowl. Ideal cocktail bar size for olives or cherries. Reticulated floral, ball-and-loop form designed by Alphonse La Paglia, who created designs for Georg Jensen USA to retail in their New York store in the late 1940's. Marks include Georg Jensen Inc. and L.P. for La Paglia, along with an uncommon mark, GJ within a beaded circle. This mark is rarely seen on La Paglia design examples as it is a mark used on Jensen silver crafted in Denmark. Bowl design pictured on page 110 in "Jensen Silver, the American Designs." 3 1/8" H., 5 1/8" W.

English bucket-form wine, or Champagne cooler. An engraved bell with 1135 AD Hurley embellishes one side of the banded cooler. The cooler is from an inn in Hurley, Berkshire upon the Thames, known as "The Olde Bell," founded in 1135. A lovely accoutrement from the famous inn, circa 1930's. 10" H., 7 1/2" W.
