Rare sterling silver "Wet Your Whistle" cocktail jigger. The figural jigger in the form of an actual whistle is fully functional as such when blown! Combination one- and two-ounce Modernist sterling cocktail jigger designed by Alphonse La Paglia. A native of Italy, La Paglia was commissioned to execute designs to be retailed by Georg Jensen, USA, in the 1940's. These were retailed for only a few years when designs were briefly continued by International Silver Co. His creations abruptly halted in 1953 due to his untimely passing. Lovely Modernist blossom motif. Pictured in "Jensen Silver, the American Designs, page 125. 3 1/2" H.
Unusual sterling silver Art Deco example from the Lebkeucher silver workshop of New Jersey. One end is a lobed, step form with designated increments for a 1/2- or 1-oz. measure. Invert to use larger measure marked for 2 oz. Stamped Lebkeucher mark circa 1930's. 3 3/4" H.
