Kralik Glatt Silberiris vase with fine silver overlay. Cased golden iridescent pinched vase with a rose orchid interior. Art Nouveau chased silver flowers and vines embellish the form. Wilhelm Kralik Sohne was founded by Josef Meyr in Austro-Bohemia circa 1815. Silver overlay bears marks from La Pierre of New York, N.Y., and Newark, N.J., circa 1905. Dimensions: 4 1/4" H.

Fine Art Nouveau silver jardiniere with Art Nouveau maidens representing the arts. One strokes a lyre while the other holds a painter's brush and palette. Reticulated flowers and interlacing vines complete the design along with naturalistic openwork handles. A cut-crystal liner rests within. Stamped marks for the Martin Mayer workshop of Mainz, Germany along with 835 Fine Silver marks, circa 1900. Beautifully executed Vienna Secession design upon this biscuit barrel made by the well-known firm of WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) in Germany circa 1905. Reticulated frame and lid with Secession elements which are repeated in the hand-cut and etched crystal liner. Illustrated on page 252 in the workshop's 1906 catalogue. 8 1/2" H., 3 3/4" D., 5 3/4" W.
Lovely Victorian heart-form snuff or trinket box. The sterling silver box has repousse florals and scrolling elements upon its sides and removable top. An undulating, crimp edge completes the romanticized heart design. Hallmarks: William Comyns, London 1888. 1 5/8" W., 1 7/8" D., 1 3/8" H.

Lovely Art Nouveau Doulton Lambeth stoneware vase. The bold, bulbous, baluster form with its upward-turned opening, is glazed in cobalt blue. Five large heart-form leaves with detailed relief beading are glazed in celadon. Additional leaves as well as pendant Art Nouveau foliates are glazed in light blue, gold and dark green. Impressed marks as well as workshop marks for Miss B. Harman, circa 1904. 11 1/8" H.

Stunning example from the well-regarded Orivit workshop of Cologne, Germany circa 1904. The pewter framework with its fluid, undulating form, has swirling foliate and berry patterns in relief. The large tray is flanked by curving, open Art Nouveau handles with firm's marks stamped beneath. Supported by eight feet, one replaced as seen in photo. Orivit, founded by Wilhelm Ferdinand Hubert Schnitz in 1894, commissioned well-known designers such as Hermann Gradl and Walter Scherf. In 1904 the firm was acquired by WMF {Wurttembergische Metalwaren Fabrik). Pictured in the book title, "ORIVIT: Zinn des Jugendstils aux Koln." The Brohan Museum in Berlin has a prominent collection of Orivit inclusive of several trays. Dimensions: 13 1/2" W., 22 1/2" L.

Fine figural Art Nouveau silvered pewter liqueur service depicting a maiden upholding a cut crystal decanter. A fluid Jugendstil base holds six cordial tumblers. The prominent artist, Jules Cheret had his own print workshop in Paris which offered works from the Imprimierie Chaix print workshop. As artistic director of Chaix, Cheret had the vision to create Les Maitres de l'Affiche (Masters of the Poster). The series of 11 3/8" x 15 5/8" posters designed by the most prestigious poster artists of the day were chromolithographic reductions of the same large format examples be these artists. Prints were sold in packages of four and offered from December 1895 to 1900. Ninety seven artists were represented in the series which on occasion included a bonus plate. 256 total plates or images were produced in the five years Les Maitres de l'Affiche was offered. Each print has an embossed seal confirming it's authenticity.
