Bronze of a 16th-century gentleman holding two geese. Charming depiction of the well-known bronze sculpture by Hans Peisser, titled "Gaensemaennchenbrunnen" ("The Goose Man's Fountain"). The original sculpture, cast in 1550, is located in the Nuremberg Town Hall square in the old town. The depiction portrays the tale of the geese being carried to market, and as they loudly protested, the gentleman took pity upon them and swiftly returned them to their home. This detailed casting rests upon a variegated green marble base and bears the original retailer's label beneath, G.G. Leykauf. Nuremberg circa 1910. 6 1/4" H.

Stunning Art Nouveau wine bottle stand made in Vienna by the Argentor workshop circa 1902. A frieze of elegant reticulated foliates rises above a raised support base. The tops of the six-leaf forms create a scallop-design opening. The Argentor firm, located in Wimbergerstrasser in Vienna, was founded by Ernst Russ and Adolf Wilhelm Hetzel. Illustrated in an early Argentor Werke catalog, page 82. 4 1/2" H.
Decanter extensively overlaid with abundant silver flowers upon a florette-and-lattice surround. The unusual and elegant bulbous form with tapering base has a curving handle completely covered in silver. An undulating neck with pouring lip holds a tall, tear- drop-form stopper with additional overlay flowers. Silver has detailed, hand-chased work. Marks for the Alvin workshop of Rhode Island, circa 1900. 10 1/4" H.

Lovely Art Nouveau pendant from the famous Charles Horner workshop in sterling silver and enamel. An oval enamel in lustrous cobalt and turquois is surrounded by reticulated foliates. Three round enamels as well as a suspended drop, all in purples, further enhance the elegant Art Nouveau design. 1 1/2" L. Signed with Charles Horner's well-known, intertwined CH registered trademark; Chester circa 1915. A similar pendant is pictured in "Charles Horner of Halifax," by Lawson.
