Fine WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) silvered pewter figural, monumental Art Nouveau vases in the manner of Alphonse Mucha. One has front relief of a barefoot maiden with flowing, tousled hair among florals and vines. The facing vase has a fluid-haired maiden sniffing a bouquet of undulating florals. Reverse of each has further interlacing foliates and vines. The neck and naturalistic waving tops are flanked by reticulated Art Nouveau whiplash handles. Stunning examples of Art Nouveau at its best. Firm's marks beneath. Germany circa 1907. 19 1/2" H., 10 1/2" w.

Art Nouveau design at its finest. A romanticized reclining maiden in the manner of Alphonse Mucha is depicted in silhouette upon the large bevel mirror as she gazes forward. Elaborately reticulated, interlacing whiplash vines and leaves form the mirror's top, with additional curving elements in relief. A drawing of the design is illustrated in the Antique Collectors Club reprint of the firm's well-known 1906 catalog, page 295. WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) marks impressed beneath. 12 1/4" W., 20 1/2" H.

Fine Secession silver bowl designed by Helene Brandt for the famous Bruckmann & Sohne workshop in Heilbronn, Germany circa 1913. The rising octagonal form has a broad rim with stylized Secession flowers, podes and leaves in deep relief influenced by Josef Hoffmann works for Wiener Werkstatte. A jardinere in this design is pictured in "Silber fur Die Welt," page 139. This publication documents creations by Bruckmann's leading designers. 800 fine silver marks beneath along with firm's marks. Dimensions: 1 7/8" H., 10 3/4" W.

Fine cast bronze of a boy holding an early carved flute-like instrument known as a chalumeau. The figure with wavy hair wears a jacket, hat and fur-lined shoes. A basket of fruits rests behind. Signed upon the squared base, Duchoiselle. The sculptor, active in France in the nineteenth century, created a highly regarded pair of bronzes depicting Native American Indians in canoes. Very fine, large WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) Art Nouveau wine or Champagne cooler. Each of the tri-form sides depicts in high relief a different castle from the Rhine and Mosel Valleys. Stunning pair of Jungendstil bowls. The footed silver forms have sweeping Art Nouveau elements among shield friezes. Secession influence geometric designs complete the 800 fine silver framework. Undulating hand-cut crystal liners rest within. Two inner-rim flakes on one liner. Each signed beneath with workshop marks for the well-known Koch & Bergfeld, circa 1902. Retailer marks for Vollgold & Sohn are found on the silver as well. The Koch & Bergfeld silversmiths were founded in Bremen in 1829. Examples of their works are represented in the Brohan Museum collection in Berlin. 5 1/2" H., 7 1/4" W. each.

Fine WMF centerpiece depicting a central maiden with outstretched arms. Whiplash handles flank the high Art Nouveau reticulated form. Relief patterns of flowers and vines sweep about the surface. The crystal liner is cut with complimenting florals. Stabilized crack upon left of liner. Designed by Albert Mayer circa 1900 in Germany in the workshop's 1906 Catalogue page 364. Fine Art Nouveau silver jardiniere with Art Nouveau maidens representing the arts. One strokes a lyre while the other holds a painter's brush and palette. Reticulated flowers and interlacing vines complete the design along with naturalistic openwork handles. A cut-crystal liner rests within. Stamped marks for the Martin Mayer workshop of Mainz, Germany along with 835 Fine Silver marks, circa 1900.
