Flowing florals rise above a series of six fish as they swim through wave-like, Art Nouveau tendrils. The cover features a wave-like flowing orchid with fish emerging from its form. Made by Joseph Wilmore in Birmingham, the lovely silver grater is fully hallmarked for 1801, along with monarch's head. The wonderful quality oval form, with its ridged pattern, opens to reveal its original steel, hinged grater. Joseph Wilmore, born in 1773, was grandson of an original member of the Birmingham silver assay Office, established that same year. 3/4" H., 7/8" W., 1 3/8" L.

Each vertically lobed piece with tiered dome top mounted with ebonized wooden handles is hand-hammered; cream & sugar with gilded interiors. Made in 1919 in the renowned Bruckmann & Sohne workshop in Heilbronn, Germany. 800 Fine Silver as well as firm's marks and retailer beneath. Another example of this service is in the permanent collection of the Brohan Museum in Berlin. Pictured page 77 in the museum's book "Metallkunst." Fine Gorham sterling silver whisky flask. The glass form is covered in basket-weave silver and is fitted with a convenient, removable drinking cup, gilded within. Top cap has a bayonet hinge and turns to lock or unlock. Marked with the firm's "key" date symbol for 1906 along with the famous Rhode Island silver workshop's hallmarks. 2 5/8" W., 5 1/4" H.

Charming Art Nouveau aide de memoire carnet, or notebook. The silvered covering depicts a beautifully detailed figure of Cigale holding a lute amidst Art Nouveau foliates. Signed Dropsy (Jean-Baptistse-Emile Dropsy, 1843-1923). Reverse is further embellished with rambling foliates. A mechanical pencil is fitted into a side closure to lock the hinged cover of the pad.
