Art Nouveau design at its finest. A romanticized reclining maiden in the manner of Alphonse Mucha is depicted in silhouette upon the large bevel mirror as she gazes forward. Elaborately reticulated, interlacing whiplash vines and leaves form the mirror's top, with additional curving elements in relief. A drawing of the design is illustrated in the Antique Collectors Club reprint of the firm's well-known 1906 catalog, page 295. WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) marks impressed beneath. 12 1/4" W., 20 1/2" H.

Doulton Lambeth bulbous, long- neck-form vase glazed in mottled blue tones. A series of Art Nouveau rosettes surrounded by glazed green heart-shape leaves are in relief. The florals sprout from a raised beaded stem. Impressed artist mark for Senior Assistant E. Violet Hayward. Impressed Doulton marks as well, along with number, circa 1904. 6 3/4" H.

Gilded bronze letter opener with detailed Art Nouveau florals in relief upon both sides of the opener. Fine functional size and form for use. Artist signed, A. Cladoux. France circa 1900. 5 5/8" L.

Large Jugendstil pewter tray by the well-known Orivit workshop of Cologne, Germany, circa 1907. Oval-form tray with flattened ends and open, gently curving handles. An organic wave pattern adorns each end. 13 1/2" W., 20 1/4" L.

Lovely blue opaline box in the form of an egg. The hinged box has a finely detailed, gilded mount. Hand-gilded florals embellish the elegant design. France circa 1910. 4 3/8" W., 5 3/8" H.

Rich deep amber crystal Josephinehutte vase with alternating panels of silver overlay and cut designs. The silver overlay, in a lacy floral design pattern, was designed by Alexander Pfoltl, circa 1925. The footed vase is cut beneath as well. Made in Germany circa 1925. 7 1/8" H.

Lovely Art Nouveau sterling silver olive or condiment spoon, made by Paye & Baker of North Attleboro, Massachusetts circa 1901. Finely detailed water lily pattern with floating lilies and pads descending along the stem of the spoon on the front as well as the reverse. The bowl has Art Nouveau florals and fronds in high relief. 7" L.

Large WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) Jundendstil inkstand with Vienna- Secession-influence design elements. Double inkwells with reticulated finials flank a brass rocker blotter. The sloping form is designed to accommodate a resting pen or letter. A hinged-top triple-stamp box completes the extraordinary design. Illustrated in the firm's well-known 1906 catalogue, page 285. Lovely English Victorian silvered candlesticks with scalloped bases which support complementing columns. Removable flower-form bobeches enhance the top. Made by the Elkington workshop in Birmingham, 1845. 10 1/8" H.

Silvered Victorian Corinthian column candlesticks. Tall, fluted pillar columns with draping, wrapped floral garlands. Sweeping garlands further enhance the notched square bases. Made in England circa 1880. 10 1/2" H., 4 3/4" W.

Lovely bottle-form silver overlay decanter. The chased overlay in interlacing Art Nouveau design has robust wheat and foliates about the tall vessel. An all- silver-covered stopper rests upon the top. Marks for the Alvin Silver Workshop of Rhode Island, known for their fine overlay work, circa 1905. 12 3/8" H.

Stunning, large, fine quality tray with raised, curved and notched borders in the Chippendale style. Bold, curving handles embellish the rectangular form. Made by the well-known Hukin & Heath workshop in Birmingham circa 1890. 14 1/2" W., 24 3/4" W.

Pure Arts & Crafts in design! Silvered basket with completely hammered surface. Octagonal form has an applied border at its flared rim with rivet strapwork. Art Nouveau sterling silver spoon with a woman's head-and-face handle. The Gibson-style woman's hair flows down to a twisted stem. Bowl of the spoon engraved "St. Louis," reverse of handle with initials, dated "Xmas 1906." Made by the Manchester Silver Co. of Rhode Island circa 1904-'06. 5 3/8" L.

Tall emerald green silver overlay vase. The ribbed glass form with gently flared opening has abundant scrolling overlay foliates with hand-chased details. American circa 1900. 10 1/4" H.

Art Nouveau sterling silver tray with wavy cartouche forms in relief about the borders. Rambling flower heads further enhance the curving form. Nice quality with rolled edge details. Hallmarks: Henry Williams, Birmingham 1911. 8 3/8" W., 10 1/4" L.

Fine cast bronze of a boy holding an early carved flute-like instrument known as a chalumeau. The figure with wavy hair wears a jacket, hat and fur-lined shoes. A basket of fruits rests behind. Signed upon the squared base, Duchoiselle. The sculptor, active in France in the nineteenth century, created a highly regarded pair of bronzes depicting Native American Indians in canoes. France, circa 1880. 24" H., 7" W., 6" D.

Silvered, reticulated wine bottle stand with stylized scallop top and stepped base support. Made in Birmingham circa 1915 by the William Hutton & Sons workshop. 7" H.

Sterling silver Adams-style candlesticks. Oval bases with fluted designs which are repeated upon the column. Beaded edging is found upon the base as well as on the oval bobeches. Hallmarks: George Henry Hibberd, Birmingham 1903. 6 3/4" H.

Lovely Gorham sterling silver bowl with eleven deep panel sections. Elaborate scrolling florals are in high relief upon the panel rim. Gilded within. Stamped with this prominent Rhode Island silversmith's "bell" date symbol for year 1900. 9 1/2" W.

Three draped parian maidens, each signed Copeland, are mounted upon a tripod-form stand. An elaborately detailed, gilded metal palm tree emerges from the stand's center. The naturalistic Victorian design upholds a crystal bowl cut and etched with complementing foliates about its border. Popular parian wares were prominent in Victorian-era England. England, circa 1865. 11 1/2" H., 11 3/4" W.

Exquisitely cast gilded bronze urn by the famous Barbedienne Foundry in France circa 1900. Detailed relief floral clusters are found upon the top. Additional stylized Art Nouveau flower forms enhance the circumference as well as the sides of the form with its variegated marble base. Signed F. Barbedienne, Paris. 8 3/8" H.

Fine WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) silvered pewter figural, monumental Art Nouveau vases in the manner of Alphonse Mucha. One has front relief of a barefoot maiden with flowing, tousled hair among florals and vines. The facing vase has a fluid-haired maiden sniffing a bouquet of undulating florals. Reverse of each has further interlacing foliates and vines. The neck and naturalistic waving tops are flanked by reticulated Art Nouveau whiplash handles. Stunning examples of Art Nouveau at its best. Firm's marks beneath. Germany circa 1907. 19 1/2" H., 10 1/2" w.

Traditional English biscuit barrel in the form of an actual detailed wooden barrel. The box with its hinged cover rests upon a beaded tray supported by four claw feet. A chased lion crest embellishes the front. Registry marks beneath as well as upon cover for January 22, 1862. 7" H., 5 3/4" W., 8 1/4" W. w/tray

Stunning pair of Jungendstil bowls. The footed silver forms have sweeping Art Nouveau elements among shield friezes. Secession influence geometric designs complete the 800 fine silver framework. Undulating hand-cut crystal liners rest within. Two inner-rim flakes on one liner. Each signed beneath with workshop marks for the well-known Koch & Bergfeld, circa 1902. Retailer marks for Vollgold & Sohn are found on the silver as well. The Koch & Bergfeld silversmiths were founded in Bremen in 1829. Examples of their works are represented in the Brohan Museum collection in Berlin. 5 1/2" H., 7 1/4" W. each.

Large example of an L.C. Tiffany Favrile decorated center bowl with its original two-tier flower frog. The rolled rim form is decorated with green lily pads and trailing vines upon the golden multi-hued iridescent glass. Both the bowl and looped frog are each signed "L.C. Tiffany Favrile," along with "4028K," circa 1916. 14" W.

Lovely Art Nouveau sterling silver clock with interlacing sweeping elements in relief. Silver is mounted upon a curving easel-back oak form. Hallmarks: Joseph Gloster, Birmingham 1907. Dimensions: 4 3/8" W., 6" H., 2" D.

A central display of open flowers and leaves crowns the robust form with further naturalistic reticulation at its lower section. Germany circa 1900. Lovely unusual example from the famous Mappin & Webb workshop of London and Sheffield circa 1910. Crystal biscuit barrel with silvered mounts is cut with stylized florals and vines dancing about the ribbed surface. A bale handle and turned lid finial enhance the form. Ideal for cookies as well as for use as a covered ice cooler. Dimensions: 6 1/2" H., 8" H. to handle, 6" W.

Extraordinary design. High art nouveau centerpiece stand by the famous WMF (Wurttembergische MetallWarenfabrik) workshop in Germany circa 1900. A four footed curving base with irises in relief leads to a naturalistic column with flanking whiplash elements. An elaborately reticulated framework of art nouveau florals above rippling water like patterns holds a cobalt crystal bowl. The scallop edge bowl has gold enamel floral accents about it's form. Exhuberant whiplash handles complete the stunning center stand. Firm's marks beneath. Dimensions : 13"h, 15"w to handles.

Fine Secession silver bowl designed by Helene Brandt for the famous Bruckmann & Sohne workshop in Heilbronn, Germany circa 1913. The rising octagonal form has a broad rim with stylized Secession flowers, podes and leaves in deep relief influenced by Josef Hoffmann works for Wiener Werkstatte. A jardinere in this design is pictured in "Silber fur Die Welt," page 139. This publication documents creations by Bruckmann's leading designers. 800 fine silver marks beneath along with firm's marks. Dimensions: 1 7/8" H., 10 3/4" W.

Beautifully interpreted Art Nouveau design. A Mucha-inspired figural maiden with flowing hair upholds a corner of her gown as it undulates about the perimeter of the tray. Pendant irises in relief are further enhanced by cast and applied flowers and fronds in high relief. Made by the famous WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) workshop in Germany circa 1900. Art Nouveau silver card tray with a raised border of intertwined mistletoe leaves. The rectangular tray with its rounded corners bears hallmarks beneath for Orfevrerie Boulenger et Cie, Paris. Additionally stamped with the head of Mercury and numeral 1 for 950 fine silver. The prominent workshop received many international design awards. France circa 1900. Dimensions: 6" W., 8" L.

An undulating Art Nouveau framework adorns the original complimenting cut crystal bowl. A billowing cover enhanced by relief tendrils and a naturalistic pierced handle complete the form. Made by the Walter Scherf workshop founded in Nuremberg in 1899 and ceased operating in 1914. Prominent designers such as Friedrich Adler, Peter Behrens and Joseph Maria Olbrich were commissioned to create designs. This fine example was likely designed by Peter Behrens. The range was signed Isis or Osiris as is this beneath the foot, circa 1900. Dimensions: 3 5/8" H, 5" W, 9" L.

Fine WMF centerpiece depicting a central maiden with outstretched arms. Whiplash handles flank the high Art Nouveau reticulated form. Relief patterns of flowers and vines sweep about the surface. The crystal liner is cut with complimenting florals. Stabilized crack upon left of liner. Designed by Albert Mayer circa 1900 in Germany in the workshop's 1906 Catalogue page 364. Four supports uphold the wavy oval form with central stylized secession florals in relief. Reticulated curving handles with complimenting florals complete the design. Firm's marks beneath. Made in Germany circa 1909. Dimensions: 4" H, 11" W.

Superb quality Art Nouveau 800 Fine Silver tray by the Wilhelm Binder workshop in Schwabisch Gmund, Germany circa 1905. The oval dual handle form has cut out interlacing Jugendstil elements. Hand chased contoured accents enhance the design. Further handwork is seen in rolled edging around the entire tray. Firm's marks beneath. An Austro-Hungarian import mark for Budapest is stamped upon one handle. An identical example in the collection of the Brohan Museum in Berlin is pictured page 101, 'Modern Art of Metalwork', published by the museum. Dimensions: 6 5/8" W, 13 1/4" L.

Sterling silver Arts & Crafts design small bowl in Shreve's Dolores pattern. The notched and relief edging is hammered. Ideal size for an olive or cherries bowl as well as for condiments. San Francisco circa 1909. Dimensions: 1" H, 2 1/4" W, 3 3/8" L.

Stunning Art Nouveau Vase! Large cased ruby red over amber glass intaglio cut florals and vines rambling about the surface of the tall form. Further cutting within the amber foliates is highlighted with silver. Attributed to the Harrach Workshop known for their fine Art Nouveau intaglio work. Bohemia circa 1900. Dimensions: 12 7/8" H.

Repousse copper covered oval wooden center bowl. Scrolling Art Nouveau and beaded elements cover the surface. Multi-colored jewelled cabochons are mounted within each of six panels. Very fine and minute attention to detail with rolled copper top edge fastened to wooden bowl with tiny nail rivets. France circa 1905. Dimensions: 2 3/4" H, 7 3/8" W, 10 1/2" L.

Pair of Art Nouveau Royal Dux pottery vases with pierced handles and florals. Ivory tone background with painted green & gilt accented relief flowers.
