Figural whisky bottle-form cigar striker lighter. Wand attached to the fluid-filled bottle's cap removes for striking upon the metal plate that is attached to the enamelled iron base. Toasting goblet-form holders are for matches. England, circa 1930's. 4 3/8" H., 3 3/4" L. at base.
Very fine Vienna Secession silver box. Exquisite example created in the well-known Alexander Sturm silver workshop in Vienna, circa 1922-32. Possibly designed by Josef Hoffmann (1870-1956). Prior to 1903 Sturm made designs for Hoffman, prior to the founding of the Wiener Werkstatte, again resuming Hoffmann designs circa 1932, when Wiener Werkstatte closed. Examples of Sturm silver have been featured in exhibits at the Neue Galerie in New York. Stamped marks for A. Strum as well as 900 Fine Siver mark. 2 1/2" H., 5 3/8" W., 6 7/8" L.
Remarkable pair of Art Nouveau candelabra. Each maiden emerges from a swirling base formed by the flowing drape of her garment. The detailed, fluidly cast figures lean upon naturalistically curving, reticulated vines which uphold flower-form candle cups. The undulating, open flower heads form bobeches. Impeccable Art Nouveau in the manner of Claude Bonnefond. Impressed workshop marks beneath. France circa 1900. 12 3/4" H., 9 1/2" W.
Stunning example. Detailed hand-chasing surrounds twelve set agates upon the antique silver vesta, or match safe. Carnelians as well as mottled agates form a geometric and round cut pattern. Striker upon the bottom and gilded within the vesta. Hallmarks: John William Kirwan, Edinburgh 1911. 1 1/2" W., 2" H.
Tall L.C. Tiffany golden Favrile glass chalice-form vase. Domed base with its inverted under-rim supports a tall stem and knop. The vase's wide, pinched top completes the stunning example. Golden iridescent glass has shimmering silvery blue and violet highlights. Signed "L.C.T. 9777." 11 3/4" H., 5 3/4" W.
Richly opalescent aqua floriform-top pastel goblet with contrasting white veining. A tall, ribbed stem is supported by a ribbed, undulating base. Signed L.C.T. Favrile; circa 1905. 8 5/8" H., 3 5/8" W.
Fine Vienna Secession hammered silver bonbonniere. The tall, lobed box with its cover is mounted with a stylized, beaded florette finial and has a gilded interior. Extraordinary example with a distinct Josef Hoffmann influence, circa 1905. Stamped with 800 fine silver mark along with assay mark for Vienna used 1872-1921. 4" W., 6 1/2" H.
Art Nouveau design at its finest. A romanticized reclining maiden in the manner of Alphonse Mucha is depicted in silhouette upon the large bevel mirror as she gazes forward. Elaborately reticulated, interlacing whiplash vines and leaves form the mirror's top, with additional curving elements in relief. A drawing of the design is illustrated in the Antique Collectors Club reprint of the firm's well-known 1906 catalog, page 295. WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) marks impressed beneath. 12 1/4" W., 20 1/2" H.

Doulton Lambeth bulbous, long- neck-form vase glazed in mottled blue tones. A series of Art Nouveau rosettes surrounded by glazed green heart-shape leaves are in relief. The florals sprout from a raised beaded stem. Impressed artist mark for Senior Assistant E. Violet Hayward. Impressed Doulton marks as well, along with number, circa 1904. 6 3/4" H.
