Lovely Georgian silver snuff box with hand-chased, elaborate cross-hatch and Greek key designs. The top is set with an oval polished carnelian. The George III box is hallmarked: Samuel Pemberton, Birmingham 1804. The Pembertons were a well-known family of silversmiths. Samuel's father was a guardian of the assay office, and grandfather a jeweler and toy maker. 1 1/8" W., 2" L.
