Beautifully executed Vienna Secession design upon this biscuit barrel made by the well-known firm of WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) in Germany circa 1905. Reticulated frame and lid with Secession elements which are repeated in the hand-cut and etched crystal liner. Illustrated on page 252 in the workshop's 1906 catalogue. 8 1/2" H., 3 3/4" D., 5 3/4" W.

Peche joined Wiener Werkstatte as artistic director in 1915. The decorated black and cream glazed plate has a central foliate design in Peche's iconic style. Vienna Secession basket designed by architect Hans Ofner (1880-1939) and made in the Argentor workshop in Austria circa 1905. Crystal liner rests within rounded frame displaying gitterwerk elements upon its circumference as well as its open handle. Ofner studied with Josef Hoffmann at the Kunstgewerbescule. He went on to create Vienna Secession interiors along with fine metalwork, furniture and jewelry. An Ofner gitterwerk vase by Argentor is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. 7 1/2" H., 5 1/2" W.

Impeccable design! The lobed creamer and sugar are distinctly influenced by Josef Hoffmann. They have hand-hammered detail and rest upon their original oval tray with its complementing, hammered, rising border. All pieces have rolled rims, a sign of quality. Each is signed by the Wilkens & Sohne silver workshop of Bremen-Hemelingen, Germany. Each consecutively numbered 7173, 7174 and 7175, along with 830 Fine Silver marks; circa 1929. Large WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) Jundendstil inkstand with Vienna- Secession-influence design elements. Double inkwells with reticulated finials flank a brass rocker blotter. The sloping form is designed to accommodate a resting pen or letter. A hinged-top triple-stamp box completes the extraordinary design. Illustrated in the firm's well-known 1906 catalogue, page 285. Vienna Secession silver drinking cup or goblet by the well-regarded J.C. Klinkosch silver workshop in Vienna circa 1925-'30. The hammered, silver-footed goblet with a swirling, fluted knop upholding the cup was likely designed by Oswald Haerdtl. The artist, known for his distinct Vienna Secession forms, was an assistant to Josef Hoffmann. A beautiful, stylized applique monogram is upon one side. Impressed marks for 800 fine silver as well as workshop marks. Examples of Klinkosch works are found in the Brohan Museum in Berlin. 6 1/8" H.

Fine Secession silver bowl designed by Helene Brandt for the famous Bruckmann & Sohne workshop in Heilbronn, Germany circa 1913. The rising octagonal form has a broad rim with stylized Secession flowers, podes and leaves in deep relief influenced by Josef Hoffmann works for Wiener Werkstatte. A jardinere in this design is pictured in "Silber fur Die Welt," page 139. This publication documents creations by Bruckmann's leading designers. 800 fine silver marks beneath along with firm's marks. Dimensions: 1 7/8" H., 10 3/4" W.
