Stunning example! The wide-lobed form vase, with a crimped center, is in a deep cornflower blue. Four sections of Vienna- Secession-design fine silver overlay, with a distinct Dagobert Peche influence, adorn the surface. The flared top is completely covered in silver. Germany circa 1915. 5 3/8" H.

Whimsical silver jigger with enamel stoplights to direct you. Green-Go, Yellow-Caution, Red-Stop. Made in Rhode Island by the Alvin Silver Co. circa 1960's. 2 1/2" H.

A tankard-, or stein-form holder houses Bakelite-cherry cocktail picks. The set-of-six picks rests within their own stand which lifts out of the tankard. Nice example for the collector of unusual cocktail picks sets. Made in England circa 1930's. 4 1/2" H.

Whimsical and unusual! Chromium cocktail picks holder is fashioned as an umbrella stand. It's circular rim is notched with twelve slots to hold the set-of-twelve butterscotch tone, finial-top picks. An umbrella handle design rises from the holder to carry the set. France circa 1940's. 5 1/8" H., 2 1/2" W., 3 1/4" L. each pick.

Wonderful French Art Deco design. Red half-moon bakelite holder supports a set-of-eight cherry-mounted picks. Each pick suspends from a slotted chromium rounded holder. Additional cherries adorn the stand's macassar wood base. France circa 1930's. 1 1/2"D, 5 1/8" W, 3 1/4"L each pick.

Stunning example of a single Steuben twist-rope column candlestick. The tall amber form has an optic ribbed candle cup and footed support in Celeste Blue. A striking color combination and pattern for the collector of fine early Steuben glass. Frederick Carder design number 6107, as illustrated in The Glass of Frederick Carder, page 164; circa 1920. 12" H.

The original lithograph by Georges Meunier, 1898, advertises the famous 19th century Parisian dance hall, Bullier. Carved frame with UV-Plexi, 19 1/2" W., 23 1/4" H.

Les Maitres de l'Affiche

In the 1890's streets in major cities were enriched with large and colorful advertising posters created by leading artists of the era. The prominent artist, Jules Cheret had his own print workshop in Paris which offered works from the Imprimierie Chaix print workshop. As artistic director of Chaix, Cheret had the vision to create Les Maitres de l'Affiche (Masters of the Poster). The series of 11 3/8" x 15 5/8" posters designed by the most prestigious poster artists of the day were chromolithographic reductions of the same large format examples be these artists. Prints were sold in packages of four and offered from December 1895 to 1900. Ninety seven artists were represented in the series which on occasion included a bonus plate. 256 total plates or images were produced in the five years Les Maitres de l'Affiche was offered. Each print has an embossed seal confirming it's authenticity.

The original lithograph by Alice R. Glenny advertises the Women's Edition of the 19th century publication, Buffalo Courier. Glenny, an American painting and graphic artist, became president of the Buffalo society of artists. She studied with William Merritt Chase. Carved frame with UV-Plexi, 19 1/2" W., 23 1/4" H.

Extraordinary quality and design. Chinese export fine silver cocktail shaker has repousse chrysanthemums along with foliage and branches in high relief about the circumference of its surface. The beautifully crafted example has hand-chased details. A charming fluttering butterfly in relief hovers above and completes the elegant design. Stamped beneath with maker mark of the Guang Li workshop of Shanghai, circa 1920. Very fine condition. 9 1/4" H.

In addition, each bears marks beneath for prominent retailer Cooke & Kelvey of Calcutta. The establishment founded by Thomas Cooke & Robert Kelvey in the Victorian era, offered finest quality silver and jewels to Royals and Nobility of the era. Whimsical Bakelite dice holder in mottled green with a large set-of-ten dice-form cocktail picks. Unusual tall dice design holder. France circa 1930's. 2 1/2" H., 1 1/2" W. holder; 3 1/4" L. each pick.

Crystal combination cocktail shaker and mixer, is deeply cut with diamond patterns. Wonderful, creative design has a sterling silver cover to allow shaking side-to-side. Remove cover to use as a mixer with a long cocktail spoon. A flat-spouted silver pourer upon the side allows for straining. A most unusual elegant form made by the Webster silver workshop of Connecticut, circa 1940. 9 1/2" H. Cocktail spoons are available separately.

Sweet Cartier sterling silver pitcher-form 2-oz. cocktail measure. Ideal jigger size for that perfect proportion. Suitable for function as a creamer or any 2-oz. measure as well. Circa 1950's. 3" H.

He is poised to putt a golf ball upon the naturalistic turf beneath him. Remarkable, minute crisp detail to the face and the attire. Hallmarks: Levi & Salaman, Birmingham 1911. 5" L.

A remarkable find! Large set-of-twelve Brooks Brothers silvered cocktail bar picks, complete in their original fitted velvet- and silk-lined box. Wear to box, picks are all in fine condition. Created in England, circa 1940's for this famous retailer which was founded in New York in 1818 as H. & D.H. Brooks & Co. 3 7/8" W., 6 3/8" L. box; 3 1/4" L. each pick.

Long sterling silver cocktail bar spoon made in the prominent Kalo silver workshop, founded in Chicago in 1900. The all hammered surface with spade-form spoon is purely arts & crafts in design. Kalo was founded by Clara Barck, along with five other women who attended the Arts Institute of Chicago. The handwrought spoon lives up to the firm's motto, "beautiful,useful and enduring." Circa 1900.  14" L.  

The whimsical wishing well form set has a bucket suspended from it's winch. The well below holds a set-of-six cherry-mounted cocktail bar picks. The brass set rests upon a round macassar wood base. Art Deco concentrically stepped cocktail bar measure with a spring-release feature. When handle is compressed, the bottom of measure dispenses liquid over a glass or cocktail shaker. The ever-popular "valve jigger," increment marked from 1/2-2 oz., is difficult to find in such good condition. Made by Napier, Connecticut, circa1930's. 4" H.

WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) Modernist wine or champagne cooler of elongated quatrefoil form. Few early workshops created coolers that would accommodate more than a single bottle. Wonderful and practical ! Germany circa 1930's. 8 3/8" H., 7" W., 14 3/4" L. to handles.

Unusual "cock"-tail shaker with a finely cast, large rooster finial upon the top cap. Interior is fitted with a prong-form citrus juicer. Invert the strainer section to pierce and extract essence of a  lemon, lime or orange to enhance the perfect cocktail recipe. Stamped 1 1/2 pint beneath, along with maker marks for William Suckling Ltd. of Birmingham circa 1930's. 11 1/4" H.  

Elegant! Carved mother-of-pearl cocktail picks are each mounted with a detailed, cast, silvered rooster. The set-of-six is complete in its  original silk- and satin-lined case. Made in England circa 1930's. 3 1/2" L. each pick

Enameled and silvered mechanical tongs. Deep teal-green enamel has an engine-turned pattern beneath. Used for ice or olives, when impressed, plunger-form mechanism opens bottom claws for grasping. Nice quality and design. Made in Norway circa 1930's.  8 " L.

Twisted-stem cocktail bar mixer spoon with a convenient muddler upon its end. Identical to those we have had marked Asprey. Made in England circa 1930's. 11" L.

Practical in form as well as function, the silvered Asprey cocktail spoon has a twisted stem for easy grip and swizzle. A convenient muddler masher is upon its end. England circa 1940's. 10 1/2" L.    

Detailed hand chased foliates surround the naturalistic design. Green agate is inset in the form of top and side fronds of the thistle. A bottom striker and chatelaine ring upon the vesta top complete the unusual example. Hallmarks: Joseph Cook & Sons, Birmingham, 1919. 1 1/4" W., 1 7/8" H.

The handsome large sterling silver vesta case is hammered upon its front with a central medallion inscribed, Lancs & Yorks, Bulldog Match, 1909, along with chased accents. The gently curved back is undecorated and a chatelaine ring is upon the vesta's side. A striker completes the design of this unusual example marking the Bulldog event in the Lancashire and Yorkshire region. Hallmarks: Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall, Birmingham, 1906. 2 1/8" H., 2 1/8" W.  

Bold magnifier has a naturally textured staghorn handle for a comfortable grip. Sterling silver end mount with its foliate-and-ribbon design is hallmarked: Henry Howson, Sheffield 1895. 4" W., 10 1/2" L.

Extraordinary Art Nouveau large double photo frame made by the famous WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) in Germany circa 1900. A central, romanticized maiden upholds sweeping flowers upon vines on the rectangular form. Jugendstil designs in relief further enhance the borders of the frame that accommodates two photos. A WMF Art Nouveau sweetmeat stand designed by the influential sculptor/designer Albert Mayer for the well-known German firm, WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik). Mayer was appointed head of the Art Studio in 1894 and specialized in designs which depicted beautiful maidens and nymphs with flowing hair, etc. Illustrated in The Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork Catalog 1906. Bears WMF mark underneath. Germany circa 1900. 9" H., 14" L., 5 1/2" W.

Handsome English antique sterling- silver-mounted flask. Bound with crocodile, the flask has a drinking cup with gilded interior which slips off for convenience. Cap is threaded to turn and lock into place. A bayonet hinge keeps the cap from detaching. Hallmarks: James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield 1912. 3 3/8" W., 5 5/8" H.

Antique sterling silver whistle with a ribbed pattern. The Victorian-era example, with its chatelaine ring, is fully functioning. Hallmarks: Francis Webb, Birmingham 1894. 1 7/8" L.

A concentrically stepped Art Deco jigger top cap crowns the top of the elegant cocktail shaker. Complementing incised bandings are upon the mid-strainer section. Made by the Elkington workshop in Birmingham circa 1930. 8" H.

Art Deco, geometrically stylized Ric & Rac terrier salt cellars. Based upon cartoon canines by illustrator Paul Abraham (1898-1933), known as Pol Rab, Ric was a Scottish Terrier and Rac, a Wire-Hair Terrier. Each stunningly whimsical dog faces its bowl-form salt cellar with Baccarat crystal liner. Made by Christofle in France circa 1931. Exceptional Frederick- Carder-era Steuben Blue Aurene bowl, or compote. The footed form, with a column that supports the lustrous blue bowl, has onion-skin edging along with purple and metallic highlights. Signed beneath Aurene with Carder's design number 2760. A drawing of the design is seen on the Carder Steuben Club website. 10 1/8" W., 4 1/2" H.

Rare sterling silver "Wet Your Whistle" cocktail jigger. The figural jigger in the form of an actual whistle is fully functional as such when blown! Marked upon its side for both 1- and 2-oz. measure increments. Stamped marks within for the Napier workshop, as well as sterling. Connecticut, circa 1930's. A very fine accoutrement for collectors of the finest. Napier is known among collectors for creating some of the most highly sought bar accessories, including the famous, original Penguin cocktail shaker. 4" L.

Stunning French Art Deco silver snuff box mounted with a large, rectangular carnelian-colored glass top. Silver-and-marcasite appliques adorn the corners in a fan shape and at center in a diamond shape. Sides have a ribbon-and-garland pattern. The heavy box has hallmarks for London 1923 along with importer mark of Gourdel Vales & Co. The firm, established in Paris in 1820 by Constant Vales, continued as Gourdel Vales in London until 1939. 1 1/2" W., 2 3/8" L.

Lovely Victorian silver-plated basket with an elaborate, splayed, twig-form handle. Basket interior has cascading flowers in relief with chased detail. English registry mark beneath for April 26, 1881, along with maker mark of Henry Wilkinson of Sheffield. 4 1/2" H., 10" W.

A stunning example of fine Art Nouveau. The pewter-mounted glass vase is from the Moritz Hacker (Budapest 1849-1932) workshop founded in Vienna, Austria in 1882. Three detailed, cast irises climb the sides of the Loetz lilac glass vase decorated with undulating waves in aubergine. The well-regarded Hacker, a jeweler to the royal court, often collaborated with Loetz. Signed with Hacker workshop marks upon mount; Vienna circa 1900-05. 8 1/4" H.
