The magnificent carved, bearded gentleman lays upon a cart and is contoured to allow a bottle to rest as he holds a twig-form collar and twig-saw to nestle the bottle. The rare holder is assembled with pegs and has working wooden wheels. Early Black Forest carvings of walnut and linden trunks, symbols of luxury and wealth, were featured in international exhibitions in London, Paris and the United States. Carving of a human figure, as well as it unusual form, make the holder an extraordinary example for the collector of wine-related antiques. Lovely and elegant Art Nouveau biscuit barrel made by the well-known WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) workshop in Germany circa 1900. The green- shaded- to-clear crystal is hand-cut with robust Art Nouveau flowers and fronds. The cover has an applied floral finial. Fleabite to one side of glass. 8" H., 5 1/2" W.

A scarce example of this chromium Art Deco cocktail shaker with a recipe dial design upon its shoulder section. Fitted with an outer top sleeve that turns to reveal different cocktail recipes. The recipes include Side Car, Stinger, Manhattan, Horse's Neck and so on. The recipes still have their red enameling intact.
