The profile, with cascading hair and elaborate headband, is reminiscent of Mucha's depictions of Sarah Bernhardt. Vienna Secession basket designed by architect Hans Ofner (1880-1939) and made in the Argentor workshop in Austria circa 1905. Crystal liner rests within rounded frame displaying gitterwerk elements upon its circumference as well as its open handle. Ofner studied with Josef Hoffmann at the Kunstgewerbescule. He went on to create Vienna Secession interiors along with fine metalwork, furniture and jewelry. An Ofner gitterwerk vase by Argentor is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. 7 1/2" H., 5 1/2" W.

A rare set, both in color as well as motif. Cut, etched and enameled in blue. These enamel Art Deco decanter sets are usually in black or red enamel--blue examples are most unusual to find. The decanter is cut with seven alternating panels with the design of a heart, four-leaf clover, bird, anchor and horseshoe. Stopper cut with a heart and each of six glasses cut with wave and circle design. Beautiful, unique and in good condition. Czechoslovakia, circa 1925. Decanter 7 3/4" H., glasses 2 1/4" H.

Fine Modernist silver cocktail condiment bowl. Ideal cocktail bar size for olives or cherries. Reticulated floral, ball-and-loop form designed by Alphonse La Paglia, who created designs for Georg Jensen USA to retail in their New York store in the late 1940's. Marks include Georg Jensen Inc. and L.P. for La Paglia, along with an uncommon mark, GJ within a beaded circle. This mark is rarely seen on La Paglia design examples as it is a mark used on Jensen silver crafted in Denmark.
