Elegant Victorian, English tall wine bottle coaster stand. The high-hat form has pierced design along with garlands and lion masks in relief. The flaring top is cast with grape leaves and clusters. The pattern is by Barker Ellis of Birmingham circa 1880. 4 1/4" H., 7 3/8" W.

Wonderful marabou figural cigar cutter. Designed by Ignatius Taschner (Germany, 1871-1913), known for his animal sculptures. The hammered steel bird has a guillotine-design beak. Raise beak, insert cigar into the eye, drop beak to cut, and allow cigar tip to fall into waiting copper bowl beneath. Clever and whimsical. Germany circa 1905. 5" W., 6 1/8" H.; 8" H. The figure is clad in a fur, belted loin cover. Signed upon top of base M. Constant. Original plaque upon the front: Le Travail, Par Mce. Constant (Mention au Salon). Lighthearted bronzes depicting a young girl and boy ice skating, by Franz Iffland (Berlin 1862-1935). The girl, in her fur-trimmed cape, has her hands in a muff; the boy in fur-trimmed cape, holds a cupid-like feathered arrow with bow. Iffland, a member of the Berliner Bildhauerschule, was active 1885-1915. He became most well-known for his sculptures of young children and women. Carved wooden bust of an African woman with contrasting, ebonized hair. A patinated brass necklace adorns the neck, and the bust rests upon a round brass base. Fashioned in the Modernist form for which Hagenauer is most well-known. Stamped beneath: Hagenauer Wien, Handmade, with Made in Austria, along with workshop mark; Austria circa 1945-50. 4 1/4" H., 2 3/4" W.

Beautifully detailed bronze of girl pouring a jug by the sculptor Rudolph Kaesbach (Germany 1873-1955). The girl, with a rich, deep golden patina, has long, wavy hair adorned with ribbon bows. The bronze stands upon a variegated grey, beige and brown marble base. Signed R. Kaesbach; Germany circa 1910. 10 7/8" H.

Hand-chased, silver overlay decanter with a tall, complementing, pinched stopper. The elegant form, with its elongated neck, is extensively overlaid with large, robust Art Nouveau flowers and interlacing vines. An elaborate cartouche with monogram is marked 1881-1906. Made by the Alvin silver workshop of Rhode Island circa 1900. 12 1/8" H.

The Bronze Flute Player depicts a boy wearing a plumed and tasseled hat playing his instrument. He is further adorned with a fur vest and a leather pouch. Patinated in rich brown tones with golden highlights. Signed E. Barillot (Eugene Barillot, France 1841-1900). The sculptor, who trained at the Berlin Academy, was active 1870-1900. The bronze stands upon a two-part plinth of variegated grey, black and gold marble. France circa 1890. 8 3/8" H.

An energetic Bacchic putto and goat frolic upon a naturalistic, rocky ground. The ground is further enhanced with clusters of ivy and grapes along with florals as well as a ribboned staff. The finely detailed multi-cast group, in the manner of Clodion and August Moreau, is patinated in rich brown with deep golden tones on the putto. All rest on a variegated red marble demilune base. France circa 1880. 8 7/8" W., 8 3/4" H., 5 1/8" D.

Combination one- and two-ounce Modernist sterling cocktail jigger designed by Alphonse La Paglia. A native of Italy, La Paglia was commissioned to execute designs to be retailed by Georg Jensen, USA, in the 1940's. These were retailed for only a few years when designs were briefly continued by International Silver Co. His creations abruptly halted in 1953 due to his untimely passing. Lovely Modernist blossom motif. Pictured in "Jensen Silver, the American Designs, page 125. 3 1/2" H.

Art Deco pottery group of a nymph and faun from the Marcel Guillard (1896-1932) ceramic workshop. Sculpted by G. Debloize. The draped nymph and resting faun have a cream crackle glaze and rest upon a mottled gray base. Artist and ceramist marks are impressed beneath the pottery base. Unusual sterling silver Art Deco example from the Lebkeucher silver workshop of New Jersey. One end is a lobed, step form with designated increments for a 1/2- or 1-oz. measure. Invert to use larger measure marked for 2 oz. Stamped Lebkeucher mark circa 1930's. 3 3/4" H.

Lovely sterling silver bowl with a distinct Alphonse La Paglia influence. The Modernist form is virtually identical to designs commissioned by Georg Jensen to be created by La Paglia to retail in the Jensen store in New York from 1948-'51. Upon the designer's abrupt passing, silver workshops created examples closely based upon those of La Paglia. American circa 1950's. 3 1/8" H., 5 1/4" W.

Very nice Tiffany sterling silver cocktail jigger. The concentrically stepped design serves as measuring increments. First step is 1/2 oz., 2nd is 1 oz., 3rd is 2 oz., and so on. An unusual example from the famous maker. New York circa 1940's. 1 7/8" H.

Vienna Secession basket designed by architect Hans Ofner (1880-1939) and made in the Argentor workshop in Austria circa 1905. Crystal liner rests within rounded frame displaying gitterwerk elements upon its circumference as well as its open handle. Ofner studied with Josef Hoffmann at the Kunstgewerbescule. He went on to create Vienna Secession interiors along with fine metalwork, furniture and jewelry. An Ofner gitterwerk vase by Argentor is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. 7 1/2" H., 5 1/2" W.

Fine quality silver cocktail spoon made by Carl M. Cohr in Denmark circa 1930's. The highly regarded workshop was founded in Fredericia by the father Ditlev Madsen Cohr. Ball finial rising above a pierced loopwork crown, patinated within. 12" L.

Fine heavy quality crystal ice cooler made by Stromberg. Sterling swivel bale handle signed Aage Weimar. The son of Danish silversmith Evald Nielsen, Weimar began his own workshop in 1937. Cast grape-and-leaf cluster mounts adorn the handle. Denmark circa 1940. 10 3/4" H., 6 1/2" W.

Made by Henry Wilkinson of Sheffield circa 1910. Brown leather-covered flask has a detachable drinking cup. The cup is hand-chased with detailed foliates and is gilded within. 3 1/4" W., 5 5/8" H.

Impeccable design! The lobed creamer and sugar are distinctly influenced by Josef Hoffmann. They have hand-hammered detail and rest upon their original oval tray with its complementing, hammered, rising border. All pieces have rolled rims, a sign of quality. Each is signed by the Wilkens & Sohne silver workshop of Bremen-Hemelingen, Germany. Each consecutively numbered 7173, 7174 and 7175, along with 830 Fine Silver marks; circa 1929.
