Raised Secession elements reminiscent of Josef Hoffmann Gitterwerk embellish the form. Gilded within. The well known Germany workshop's oxidation marks upon the handle. Made circa 1910. Large WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) Jundendstil inkstand with Vienna- Secession-influence design elements. Double inkwells with reticulated finials flank a brass rocker blotter. Ikora Kristall vase made by WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) under the direction of Karl Wiedmann in Germany circa 1939. Widely flaring trumpet form internally decorated in brilliant red at the rim. Bulbous bottom in deep teal green with radiating bubbles against a red background. Art Nouveau design at its finest. A romanticized reclining maiden in the manner of Alphonse Mucha is depicted in silhouette upon the large bevel mirror as she gazes forward. Elaborately reticulated, interlacing whiplash vines and leaves form the mirror's top, with additional curving elements in relief. A drawing of the design is illustrated in the Antique Collectors Club reprint of the firm's well-known 1906 catalog, page 295.
