Lovely and elegant Art Nouveau biscuit barrel made by the well-known WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) workshop in Germany circa 1900. The green- shaded- to-clear crystal is hand-cut with robust Art Nouveau flowers and fronds. The cover has an applied floral finial. Fleabite to one side of glass. 8" H., 5 1/2" W.

A WMF Art Nouveau sweetmeat stand designed by the influential sculptor/designer Albert Mayer for the well-known German firm, WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik). Mayer was appointed head of the Art Studio in 1894 and specialized in designs which depicted beautiful maidens and nymphs with flowing hair, etc. Illustrated in The Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork Catalog 1906. Bears WMF mark underneath. Germany circa 1900. 9" H., 14" L., 5 1/2" W.

Beautifully interpreted Art Nouveau design. A Mucha-inspired figural maiden with flowing hair upholds a corner of her gown as it undulates about the perimeter of the tray. Pendant irises in relief are further enhanced by cast and applied flowers and fronds in high relief. Made by the famous WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) workshop in Germany circa 1900. Very fine, large WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) Art Nouveau wine or Champagne cooler. Each of the tri-form sides depicts in high relief a different castle from the Rhine and Mosel Valleys. The castles are nestled among naturalistic landscapes in deep relief as well. Three pierced handles adorn the top section. Firm's marks beneath. Fine WMF centerpiece depicting a central maiden with outstretched arms. Whiplash handles flank the high Art Nouveau reticulated form. Relief patterns of flowers and vines sweep about the surface. The crystal liner is cut with complimenting florals. Stabilized crack upon left of liner. Designed by Albert Mayer circa 1900 in Germany in the workshop's 1906 Catalogue page 364. Art Nouveau design at its finest. A romanticized reclining maiden in the manner of Alphonse Mucha is depicted in silhouette upon the large bevel mirror as she gazes forward. Elaborately reticulated, interlacing whiplash vines and leaves form the mirror's top, with additional curving elements in relief. A drawing of the design is illustrated in the Antique Collectors Club reprint of the firm's well-known 1906 catalog, page 295. Ikora Kristall vase made by WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) under the direction of Karl Wiedmann in Germany circa 1939. Widely flaring trumpet form internally decorated in brilliant red at the rim. Bulbous bottom in deep teal green with radiating bubbles against a red background. The form is pictured on page 152 in "WMF Ikora and Myra Glaser Glass." 4 1/8" W., 3 7/8" H.
