Fine Art Deco sterling silver flask. The hammered body has 14K gold panels with incised detail. The top cap unscrews and its telescoping form converts to a drinking cup. Quite elegant. Marked upon opening sterling silver, 14K, 10 oz. Made by Napier in Connecticut circa 1930's. 3 7/8" W., 6 1/2" H.
This is the authentic original Napier Penguin Cocktail Shaker designed by Emile Schuelke in 1936. Retains its original white rubber stopper within beak, dried out as usual with age. The original, highly collected, recipe or "Tells-U-How" cocktail shaker made by Napier in Connecticut. The design for this form was patented by LeRoy Fontan for Napier in 1935. The outer sleeve revolves to reveal drink recipes in windows. An example is illustrated in 'The Cocktail Shaker' by Khachadourian, page 97. No collection should be without one. Stunning example from the well-regarded Orivit workshop of Cologne, Germany circa 1904. The pewter framework with its fluid, undulating form, has swirling foliate and berry patterns in relief. The large tray is flanked by curving, open Art Nouveau handles with firm's marks stamped beneath. Supported by eight feet, one replaced as seen in photo. Orivit, founded by Wilhelm Ferdinand Hubert Schnitz in 1894, commissioned well-known designers such as Hermann Gradl and Walter Scherf. In 1904 the firm was acquired by WMF {Wurttembergische Metalwaren Fabrik). Pictured in the book title, "ORIVIT: Zinn des Jugendstils aux Koln." The Brohan Museum in Berlin has a prominent collection of Orivit inclusive of several trays. Dimensions: 13 1/2" W., 22 1/2" L.

A stunning pewter mount with its original gilding adorns the green glass wine decanter. Reticulated berries, foliates and vines are complemented by a hinged top with berries in relief. Made by the Walter Scherf workshop founded in Nuremberg in 1899 and ceased operating in 1914. A fine example from this workshop, who commissioned prominent designers including Friedrich Adler, Peter Behrens and Joseph Maria Olbrich. The range was signed Isis or Osiris as is this beneath. An undulating Art Nouveau framework adorns the original complimenting cut crystal bowl. A billowing cover enhanced by relief tendrils and a naturalistic pierced handle complete the form. Made by the Walter Scherf workshop founded in Nuremberg in 1899 and ceased operating in 1914. Prominent designers such as Friedrich Adler, Peter Behrens and Joseph Maria Olbrich were commissioned to create designs. This fine example was likely designed by Peter Behrens. Hallberg pewter candle holders made by the C. G. Hallberg workshop in Stockholm, Sweden. Hallmark date 1931. The prominent gold and silversmith was jeweler to the Swedish royal court. Each two-arm candle holder rests upon a round, stepped base. A central fan form finial crowns the curving form. Dimensions: 9 1/2" H., 8 1/4" W.

Fine WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) silvered pewter figural, monumental Art Nouveau vases in the manner of Alphonse Mucha. One has front relief of a barefoot maiden with flowing, tousled hair among florals and vines. The facing vase has a fluid-haired maiden sniffing a bouquet of undulating florals. Reverse of each has further interlacing foliates and vines. The neck and naturalistic waving tops are flanked by reticulated Art Nouveau whiplash handles.
