Fine WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) silvered pewter figural, monumental Art Nouveau vases in the manner of Alphonse Mucha. One has front relief of a barefoot maiden with flowing, tousled hair among florals and vines. The facing vase has a fluid-haired maiden sniffing a bouquet of undulating florals. Reverse of each has further interlacing foliates and vines. The neck and naturalistic waving tops are flanked by reticulated Art Nouveau whiplash handles. Stunning examples of Art Nouveau at its best. Firm's marks beneath. Germany circa 1907. 19 1/2" H., 10 1/2" w.

Chiparus portrayed children in his earliest works. This rare and massive example depicts a spirited youth playing pipes. Detailed casting by Etling, the artist's early foundry. Greenish patina with contrasting golden-brown highlights to hair and pipes. A similar subject shown in a photo with Chiparus in his studio; page 13 in "Chiparus: Master of Art Deco," by Alberto Shayo. France, circa 1925. 15", H. 21" L., 6 1/2" W.

Art Nouveau design at its finest. A romanticized reclining maiden in the manner of Alphonse Mucha is depicted in silhouette upon the large bevel mirror as she gazes forward. Elaborately reticulated, interlacing whiplash vines and leaves form the mirror's top, with additional curving elements in relief. A drawing of the design is illustrated in the Antique Collectors Club reprint of the firm's well-known 1906 catalog, page 295. WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) marks impressed beneath. 12 1/4" W., 20 1/2" H.

Fine Art Nouveau "L'Etang" (The Pond) Jardiniere featuring frolicking children, circa 1890's. Well cast sculpture by one of the most highly regarded artists working in France in the Art Nouveau Era. A similar example is pictured in The Paris Salons-vol. V, page 369. This is an unusual example by Larche, well known for his design of The Loie Fuller lamp. Dimensions: 10 1/2" H., 11 1/2" W.; signed,circa 1890's.

Fine figural Art Nouveau silvered pewter liqueur service depicting a maiden upholding a cut crystal decanter. A fluid Jugendstil base holds six cordial tumblers. Stylized hand-cutting upon the decanter and tumblers is in a Secession design. Designed by Albert Mayer for WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) in Germany circa 1900. Firm's marks impressed upon base. Illustrated in "Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork from Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik 1906," page XXXVII and page 129. 14 1/4" H., 13 1/4" L.

Large example of an L.C. Tiffany Favrile decorated center bowl with its original two-tier flower frog. The rolled rim form is decorated with green lily pads and trailing vines upon the golden multi-hued iridescent glass. Both the bowl and looped frog are each signed "L.C. Tiffany Favrile," along with "4028K," circa 1916. 14" W.

This fine example by Sabino epitomizes the best of Art Deco in its pure form. The concentrically tiered glass waterfall shade rests above its complementing silvered bronze base. Among the most effectively translated lighting designs by Marius-Ernest Sabino made in his atelier circa 1930. Signed upon shade interior in molded relief: SABINO 4640 PARIS-DEPOSE. Fine Secession silver bowl designed by Helene Brandt for the famous Bruckmann & Sohne workshop in Heilbronn, Germany circa 1913. The rising octagonal form has a broad rim with stylized Secession flowers, podes and leaves in deep relief influenced by Josef Hoffmann works for Wiener Werkstatte. A jardinere in this design is pictured in "Silber fur Die Welt," page 139. This publication documents creations by Bruckmann's leading designers. 800 fine silver marks beneath along with firm's marks. Dimensions: 1 7/8" H., 10 3/4" W.

A most unusual-to-find matching pair of silver overlay vases. Each is in emerald green glass with extensive overlay work, all with hand-chased detail. Interlacing Art Nouveau designs climb the baluster form. Four robust flowers emerge from their stems upon the upper portion of the vases. American circa 1900. 10" H. each

Fine cast bronze of a boy holding an early carved flute-like instrument known as a chalumeau. The figure with wavy hair wears a jacket, hat and fur-lined shoes. A basket of fruits rests behind. Signed upon the squared base, Duchoiselle. The sculptor, active in France in the nineteenth century, created a highly regarded pair of bronzes depicting Native American Indians in canoes. France, circa 1880. 24" H., 7" W., 6" D.

A stunning example of fine Art Nouveau. The pewter-mounted glass vase is from the Moritz Hacker (Budapest 1849-1932) workshop founded in Vienna, Austria in 1882. Three detailed, cast irises climb the sides of the Loetz lilac glass vase decorated with undulating waves in aubergine. The well-regarded Hacker, a jeweler to the royal court, often collaborated with Loetz. Signed with Hacker workshop marks upon mount; Vienna circa 1900-05. 8 1/4" H.

Three draped parian maidens, each signed Copeland, are mounted upon a tripod-form stand. An elaborately detailed, gilded metal palm tree emerges from the stand's center. The naturalistic Victorian design upholds a crystal bowl cut and etched with complementing foliates about its border. Popular parian wares were prominent in Victorian-era England. England, circa 1865. 11 1/2" H., 11 3/4" W.

Bold stepped Art Deco form with notched architectural elements in relief about the circumference. This highly collected cocktail shaker is extraordinarily rare to find with its set-of-six matching conical cocktail glasses. Each with matching step and notched design upon the bases. Shaker's top cap enhanced with a ball finial, removes to reveal a wafer-form strainer which lifts out for convenience. Denmark circa 1930's. 8 3/4" H. shaker, 2 3/4" H. each glass.

This well-known Modernist shaker was designed by Folke Arstrom for Guldsmedsaktiebolaget (GAB) in Stockholm in 1935. Made of nickel-plated brass and Bakelite. Concave and convex panels with incised, patinated, horizontal grooves at lower section. Top cap unscrews to reveal an internal wafer strainer. Pair sterling silver Danish-influence two-arm candelabra. A central urn form with scrolling berry elements is reminiscent of Georg Jensen design. The stunning form is supported by a hammered silver base. Marks beneath for the prominent Gorham silver workshop along with date mark for year 1941. 7 1/4" H., 9 1/2" W.

Exceptional book- form-design, gilded bronze and champleve enamel quadruple photo frame. The book, with detailed sides that appear as pages, opens to reveal stylized apertures for four photos. Elaborate cast, mounted appliques have enamels in tones including turquoise, yellow, white, mauve and black, among scrolling, gilded elements. The book is mounted upon its own bronze easel. Extraordinary quality and design. Chinese export fine silver cocktail shaker has repousse chrysanthemums along with foliage and branches in high relief about the circumference of its surface. The beautifully crafted example has hand-chased details. A charming fluttering butterfly in relief hovers above and completes the elegant design. Stamped beneath with maker mark of the Guang Li workshop of Shanghai, circa 1920. Very fine condition. 9 1/4" H.

A classic Frederick Carder design vase. The Ivrene baluster form has opposing "M" handles upon each side. Original Carder design #8505 illustrated page 302 in The Glass of Frederick Carder. Circa 1920's. Dimensions: 7" W, 10 1/2" H.

Extraordinary design. High art nouveau centerpiece stand by the famous WMF (Wurttembergische MetallWarenfabrik) workshop in Germany circa 1900. A four footed curving base with irises in relief leads to a naturalistic column with flanking whiplash elements. An elaborately reticulated framework of art nouveau florals above rippling water like patterns holds a cobalt crystal bowl. The scallop edge bowl has gold enamel floral accents about it's form. Art Nouveau Daum Nancy cameo glass quatrefoil-form bowl. Rambling golden leaves along with blue-purple berries, all in cameo, are around the circumference. A mottled background is in tones of yellow, green and amber. Signed in the cameo, Daum Nancy with the Croix de Lorraine. France circa 1900. 3 1/4" H., 8 1/4" W.

Stunning pair of Jungendstil bowls. The footed silver forms have sweeping Art Nouveau elements among shield friezes. Secession influence geometric designs complete the 800 fine silver framework. Undulating hand-cut crystal liners rest within. Two inner-rim flakes on one liner. Each signed beneath with workshop marks for the well-known Koch & Bergfeld, circa 1902. Retailer marks for Vollgold & Sohn are found on the silver as well. The Koch & Bergfeld silversmiths were founded in Bremen in 1829. Examples of their works are represented in the Brohan Museum collection in Berlin. 5 1/2" H., 7 1/4" W. each.

Very fine, large WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik) Art Nouveau wine or Champagne cooler. Each of the tri-form sides depicts in high relief a different castle from the Rhine and Mosel Valleys. The castles are nestled among naturalistic landscapes in deep relief as well. Three pierced handles adorn the top section. Firm's marks beneath. Beautiful Delatte Nancy Cameo Glass Vase with dancing women in cameo relief. Two figures sashaying with veils in Isadora Duncan fashion while one caresses a lyre. Red brown over an orange ground. Signed Delatte in cameo on the frosted background, will not show up in photos. France circa 1925. Dimensions: 9 3/4" H, 4" W.

Fine WMF centerpiece depicting a central maiden with outstretched arms. Whiplash handles flank the high Art Nouveau reticulated form. Relief patterns of flowers and vines sweep about the surface. The crystal liner is cut with complimenting florals. Stabilized crack upon left of liner. Designed by Albert Mayer circa 1900 in Germany in the workshop's 1906 Catalogue page 364. Fine Art Nouveau silver jardiniere with Art Nouveau maidens representing the arts. One strokes a lyre while the other holds a painter's brush and palette. Reticulated flowers and interlacing vines complete the design along with naturalistic openwork handles. A cut-crystal liner rests within. Stamped marks for the Martin Mayer workshop of Mainz, Germany along with 835 Fine Silver marks, circa 1900. Artists commissioned by Mayer include Peter Behrens and Hans Christiansen. 3 7/8" H., 5" W., 11" L.

Figural wine bottle holder from Brienz, Switzerland circa mid-nineteenth century. The magnificent carved, bearded gentleman lays upon a cart and is contoured to allow a bottle to rest as he holds a twig-form collar and twig-saw to nestle the bottle. The rare holder is assembled with pegs and has working wooden wheels. Early Black Forest carvings of walnut and linden trunks, symbols of luxury and wealth, were featured in international exhibitions in London, Paris and the United States. Carving of a human figure, as well as it unusual form, make the holder an extraordinary example for the collector of wine-related antiques. Quite fine condition apart from wear to nose area upon this over 150 year old antique.11" H., 5 3/4" W., 18 1/2" L.

Three bottle finely cut crystal tantalus for wine or whiskey. Holder supported by scroll and acanthus ornamented feet. Adorned with loop handle for transport. British registry marks beneath. Impeccable design! The lobed creamer and sugar are distinctly influenced by Josef Hoffmann. They have hand-hammered detail and rest upon their original oval tray with its complementing, hammered, rising border. All pieces have rolled rims, a sign of quality. Each is signed by the Wilkens & Sohne silver workshop of Bremen-Hemelingen, Germany. Each consecutively numbered 7173, 7174 and 7175, along with 830 Fine Silver marks; circa 1929. A WMF Art Nouveau sweetmeat stand designed by the influential sculptor/designer Albert Mayer for the well-known German firm, WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik).
