Very fine quality sterling silver and crystal ice cooler made by the well-known Mappin & Webb. Crystal is cut into nine panels with curving fan patterns. Top is mounted with a silver frame along with notched and curving Art Deco handles. Complete with its original silver ice drainer to allow water to settle beneath the ice cubes. Stunning Art Nouveau wine bottle stand made in Vienna by the Argentor workshop circa 1902. A frieze of elegant reticulated foliates rises above a raised support base. The tops of the six-leaf forms create a scallop-design opening. The Argentor firm, located in Wimbergerstrasser in Vienna, was founded by Ernst Russ and Adolf Wilhelm Hetzel. Unusual example of a high Art Deco biscuit box or covered ice cooler. The crystal box is cut with geometric triangular patterns and fits upon its own tray.
