The footed, rounded form has a decorated, etched glass surface to complete the design. Signed beneath. Argentor was located in Wimbergerstrasse and was founded by Ernst Russ and Adolf Wilhelm Hetzel.

Extraordinary Art Nouveau design. A scarce example of a bat-form pendant from the famous Charles Horner workshop in sterling and enamel. A detailed pattern in the silver wings and body is seen beneath the enamel work. Cobalt blue, along with lustrous turquoise and aqua greens, define the design. Further enamel is found upon a rising triangular form above the pendant as well as on a complementing suspension. A similar example is pictured in "Charles Horner of Halifax," page 94. A stunning example of fine Art Nouveau. The pewter-mounted glass vase is from the Moritz Hacker (Budapest 1849-1932) workshop founded in Vienna, Austria in 1882. Three detailed, cast irises climb the sides of the Loetz lilac glass vase decorated with undulating waves in aubergine. The well-regarded Hacker, a jeweler to the royal court, often collaborated with Loetz. Signed with Hacker workshop marks upon mount; Vienna circa 1900-05. 8 1/4" H.

A fine example from this workshop, who commissioned prominent designers including Friedrich Adler, Peter Behrens and Joseph Maria Olbrich. The range was signed Isis or Osiris as is this beneath.
