Very fine quality sterling silver and crystal ice cooler made by the well-known Mappin & Webb. Crystal is cut into nine panels with curving fan patterns. Top is mounted with a silver frame along with notched and curving Art Deco handles. Complete with its original silver ice drainer to allow water to settle beneath the ice cubes. The figures are upon an elaborate, variegated, cream-and-caramel onyx base with green onyx insets. Geometric marble forms further enhance the bold Art Deco design. Diana, with a patterned drape about her shoulder, is patinated in silver and gold; the ibex in aubergine. Signed upon the base, J. Dauvergne. France circa 1925. 21" H., 33 1/2" L., 7 1/8" D.
