Lovely tray made by the well-regarded Argentor workshop of Vienna circa 1900. The silvered high Art Nouveau borders are reticulated with rambling florals and vines. The footed, rounded form has a decorated, etched glass surface to complete the design. Signed beneath. Argentor was located in Wimbergerstrasse and was founded by Ernst Russ and Adolf Wilhelm Hetzel.

Extraordinary Art Nouveau design. A scarce example of a bat-form pendant from the famous Charles Horner workshop in sterling and enamel. A detailed pattern in the silver wings and body is seen beneath the enamel work. Cobalt blue, along with lustrous turquoise and aqua greens, define the design. Further enamel is found upon a rising triangular form above the pendant as well as on a complementing suspension. A similar example is pictured in "Charles Horner of Halifax," page 94. Hallmarks: Charles Horner, Chester 1909. 2 1/2" L. with suspended enamels.
